Kuala Lumpur, 6th December 2019 \u2013 The Budimas Charitable Foundation helped spread some holiday cheer on Friday to more than 140 less-fortunate children at the annual Christmas celebration that took place at Pusat Komuniti Bukit Bandaraya, Bangsar. Budimas hosted 140 underprivileged children from 6 charitable homes and their caretakers at this inaugural holiday event, which featured carolling, refreshments and a visit from Santa Claus.<\/p>\n
The children aged from 3 to 18 years old that attended were from\u00a0Rumah Hope<\/em>, Lighthouse Children Welfare Home, Persatuan Kebajikan Agathians Malaysia, Pertubuhan Rumah Kebajikan Chrestus, \u00a0Stepping Stones Living Centre<\/em>\u00a0and the foundation\u2019s very own children shelter,\u00a0Pusat Jagaan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Budimas Orion.<\/em><\/p>\n The evening kicked off with the lighting ceremony of the 8-foot Christmas tree by the Trustees of the foundation and was followed by a scrumptious buffet dinner of Christmas favourites such as, roasted chicken, fish fritter, potatoes wedges, mixed vegetables and jelly for dessert<\/p>\n The carollers from Zotung Refugee Catholic Learning Centre then performed Christmas jingles whilst the children from 6 homes competed in a \u201cChristmas Ornament Decoration Competition\u201d the winners took home huge Christmas hampers. The spirit of teamwork could be seen amongst these children as they compete to make the most artistic ornaments using their creativity.<\/p>\n The event culminated with the Trustees of Budimas presenting each child with a goody bag filled with healthy snacks and schooling necessities. Following the goody bag distribution, the kids were treated with money packets too.<\/p>\n This was a lot of fun,\u201d said Michelle, a 10-year-old from one of the charitable homes. \u201cI got a water bottle and I really like it a lot.\u201d \u201cI had a great time. I didn\u2019t really know what to expect but it was a fun party,\u201d said Anis, a 12-year-old. \u201cI liked the singing and meeting Santa. Everything was fun.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe kids really had a great time and they love their gifts.
